Castor oil, organic

Product-Description of Castor oil, organic

Our castor oil, organic is thick and almost colourless and odourless. We obtain it from an Indian family business. There it is cold-pressed twice for a particularly high quality and has a high proportion of ricinoleic acid. Of course, the toxic ricin of the seeds is not contained in our castor oil. The refined version of the oil is just as colourless and odourless and is still gently refined after cold pressing.
Our castor oil is BIO, COSMOS, NATRUE and KOSHER certified and can be stored for at least 24 months. It is available from 1 kg.

Focus on ingredients of Castor oil, organic

Castor oil is characterised by a unique fatty acid profile: It consists mostly of ricinoleic acid, a rare omega-9 fatty acid. This, together with an additional hydroxy group, ensures the oil's high viscosity. Pigments in decorative cosmetics are thus stabilised in a natural way and their adhesion is increased. In addition, castor oil has a protective and strengthening effect in hair, eyelash and eyebrow care and gives shine.

Application cosmetics of Castor oil, organic

Castor oil is not called "lipstick oil" without reason: Thanks to its extraordinary viscosity, it is indispensable in decorative cosmetics. Pigments are wetted and stabilised with it, and due to the low spreadability of castor oil, the colour adheres better to the lips or skin. At the same time, it protects the skin and provides a natural glow.
Castor oil is also particularly popular for strengthening eyelashes, eyebrows and hair. Natural eyelash and eyebrow serums with castor oil are trending heavily on social media and are recommended by skinfluencers on Instagram and TikTok for thicker eyelashes and eyebrows.
As castor oil is easily soluble in alcohol, it is also suitable for scalp and hair care. When applied to the scalp, castor oil has a nourishing and clarifying effect. The hair remains supple with castor oil and is protected from breakage. Castor oil is also ideal for the care of nails and cuticles.

Product ideas for castor oil:

For a trendy eyelash and eyebrow serum, castor oil can be used together with olive oil, for example. In a mascara, castor oil supports the eyelash lengthening effect as a nourishing ingredient.

Castor oil and coconut oil fit into a 2in1 scalp and hair care for thick and well-groomed hair.

The combination of castor oil and mango butter in lipsticks provides adhesion, colour strength and care. Castor oil can also be used in a trendy lip oil.

Selected organic projects

We source our organic castor oil from India from a family business that has been in existence for over 40 years. There, the oil is double cold-pressed and filtered from the seed of the castor tree Ricinus communis, also known as the miracle tree. The shrubby evergreen tree is cultivated by small farmers from the Maharashtra region in certified organic agriculture. It is considered particularly resistant to heat and drought. The harvest takes place from January to March.
Our supplier supports rural communities in India, promotes school education and enables small Indian farmers to convert to organic farming. The press cake of the castor oil is reused for compost and fertiliser and thus used in a circular way. Also, thanks to the production of the castor oil in India, a large part of the added value remains locally.
