Candelilla Wax, COS, Organic

Candelilla Wax is a yellow - to light yellow plant wax, which is obtained from the leaves of the candelilla plant (Euphorbia antisyphilitica / Euphorbia cerifera), a spurge plant. The bushy grass, grows in northern Mexico and parts of the USA. As protection against enormous heat, the plant forms a wax on its leaves. These are cut off by the "Candelilleros" and the wax is extracted. We obtain our wax exclusively from producers who strictly adhere to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The wax is pleasant, not sticky. Its melting point is 68-74°C/155-165°F, between beeswax and carnauba wax. Our candelilla wax is BIO, COSMOS and KOSHER certified, as well as NATRUE conform. It can be stored for at least 36 months.

Candelilla wax has the special property of homogeneously combining oils. Due to its melting point, this wax is used in lip care products, hand creams and also in decorative cosmetics. It is also often used in hair conditioners to improve shine, grip and combability.
