Berry Wax

Berry wax is a plant wax obtained from the berry fruits of the sumac family (e.g. Japanese wax tree Rhus Sucedanea and lacquer tree Rhus Verniciflua). The wax is cleaned and bleached, is solid and available from us in pastille form. It consists of 100% berry wax and therefore has no foreign odour. Our berry wax is COSMOS and NATRUE approved, Kosher, and can be stored for at least 24 months.

With a melting point of 52°C- 54°C, berry wax is softer than beeswax. It has a pleasant feel which makes it particularly suitable for lipsticks, lip care sticks, O/W and W/O emulsions in skin and hair care and decorative cosmetics. Berry wax has a gentler, less film-forming effect. In soap production, berry wax is often used as a consistency agent.
